a recommendation and more

Each night we read aloud to our children.  We try to find books which are uplifting, encouraging, and inspire their little hearts to fall in love with Jesus more and more.  We love stories about missionaries and real-life accounts of what God has done on the earth.

Recently, while browsing around the Christian bookstore for a few Christmas gifts, a book caught my eye.  I had a quick look through it and thought it would be a fabulous read-aloud for our family.

Boy, was I right!  We are enjoying it so much that I thought I would recommend it to you guys.  It is an amazing compilation of real-life stories involving how God has used children in powerful ways.  Not only is it good for our children’s hearts, but Anthony and I are also being strengthened and encouraged in our own walk with the Lord.  It is so wonderful to be reminded about how great and mighty God is…and how He chooses to use the most innocent of children for His glory.

Highly recommended for any family who believes in the power of God and is looking for a inspirational read!

Also, I know that many people have been praying for darling little Ethan.  Oh my goodness…God of miracles!  Just go and take a look at his precious mom’s recent blog update.

How can anyone doubt the existence of a Father in heaven who is alive and well and more than able to answer our prayers?  Ethan is living proof that prayer works!

And lastly, together with some additional funds which were donated to Project Hopeful, a total of $37,950 was raised for Village of Hope, Guatemala in the month of December.  I am humbled and amazed at God’s incredible provision for the fatherless of that nation.  Not only will an entire house be built to accommodate some of the Lord’s neediest orphans…but they also have enough funds to buy beds, cozy blankets, toys, food, and other supplies for the precious children who will soon call it their home.  My friend and founder of Village of Hope, Guatemala, Amy Block, told me that plans are already underway to begin building very soon and they hope to have the home completed in just a few months.

Hallelujah!

I am in awe of God and the way He mobilizes His army when there is a need.  I don’t even know how to thank each one of you who gave so sacrificially to this mission.  God multiplied the seed that was sown…and it is absolutely glorious.
