an urgent prayer request

The road to bringing children home from faraway lands is very often filled with unforeseen delays, unexpected glitches, and humongous tests of faith.

Adoption has tested my faith more than anything else ever has.

Today I come to you all asking you to please pray with us as we get closer to bringing Kael and Hasya home.

The good news is that the process has moved swiftly.  We have USCIS approval and our attorney has the interview for our Article 5 (the next approval we need) in Bulgaria next Tuesday.

The BAD news is that the paperwork which I sent to our sweet attorney (which she needs for that interview!) is currently being held by customs in Bulgaria.  Everything she has done to try and get them to release our documents has failed thus far!  Unfortunately, there was an error on the envelope which has caused customs to not budge on releasing it.  Today they are wanting to return the package to the U.S for clearance, and then have it resent.

Oh my goodness!  If they return it we can expect a delay of many weeks!  There is no telling when our attorney will be able to get another appointment for our Article 5.  Not to mention the delays in mailing back and forth.

Obviously that is so NOT what we want.  We long to get our two sweet children out of the heinous places that they are living in.  The day of their rescue cannot come one day too soon!

Today I am trying to remind myself that not even this has taken the Lord by surprise.  As many of you who have adopted internationally (or domestically) know so very well…adoption is a battle for the lives of children!  The enemy will try anything in his power to keep precious blessings captive–hidden in darkness, in secret places (as it says in Isaiah chapter 45).

Today I am choosing to stand on the promises of my God–believing with all my heart that NO plan of the enemy shall prosper and that the VICTORY already belongs to the LORD!

Would you please pray with us?  Our attorney cannot go to the interview on Tuesday without those documents.  And, she still needs time to translate them.

We need them RELEASED by tomorrow, in the name of Jesus!

Please trust with us that customs in Bulgaria will NOT send that envelope back as they plan on doing tomorrow!

NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST HASYA AND KAEL SHALL PROSPER!

Trusting the One who is ABLE this day!
