catching up

~~~  I’m embracing new adventures and journeys this year.  That means that my time here will be a little less frequent than it has been in the past few years.  I feel like I am finally finding a much healthier balance in my life.  While I am absolutely passionate about adoption, orphans, and helping families to raise funds…my family has to come first.  I struggled to find a balance in wearing many hats last year and began to feel pretty worn out by the time Christmas arrived.
This year God gently impressed on my heart to cut back in areas that seemed good but weren’t the best for my family.
And so I have.  One little thing at a time.  Of course I’ll continue to blog and share our lives as time permits.  I have such a short time to bring up these precious blessings that God has given me.  I don’t want to miss a moment.
You are welcome to follow along on FB for more regular updates and photos.
~~~  Harper’s surgery is a go tomorrow.  Thank you to all of you who have prayed that she would stay healthy.  It will be an overnight stay in the hospital and we should be able to come home on Tuesday morning.  Your prayers for our littlest are greatly appreciated.

~~~  I am four weeks into my IsaBody Challenge.  I don’t think I have pushed my body as hard as I have in the past month since I was in high school.  It’s been exhilarating!  Doing something new and different has given me a new perspective and renewed excitement for life in general.  I am absolutely loving it.  Gone are the days when I used to feel like I needed a nap in the afternoon!  My running is also coming along.  I can actually RUN now.  My legs even know what to do.  So worth the sacrifice of finding time in my busy days to do it.  I am so thankful that I took one tiny step and decided to regain my health last May.  It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
We still need more runners on our Team Truth team.  It’s going to be so much fun gathering in Chicago in September.  According to our trainer, you really only need about 12-14 weeks to train for a half marathon.  There’s still plenty of time!  Some have asked me if we’ll have time to fellowship as a team.  YES!  There will be plenty of time to share meals, laughter, and to build relationships. I cannot wait to hug many of you in person. We’d love to have you join us!
~~~  If you read here last year, you will remember what an awful time we had with sickness right from the start of winter.  So far, this year has been SO different.  We’ve made some major diet changes and it has definitely paid off.  After much research, we also added incredible supplements to our little ones’ diets.  I am amazed that not once this winter has Hailee even had a snotty nose!  That’s a sweet victory.

~~~  We’re still trusting that God will bring the perfect buyer for our home.  In His time, not ours.
~~~  Loving learning about essential oils.  What a gift from God they are!

~~~  We’re slowly but surely adjusting to life in a new city.  It’s taken me a while, but God has been so gracious and patient with me in this season. I am in awe of His grace–His ability to catch me when I fall and set my feet upon the Rock over and over again. It’s amazing being reunited as a family and having Anthony here with us.  That has made such a huge difference for me and the kids.  Grateful.
~~~  Holden has a family!  I believe there is also a family who is trying to adopt Hunter.  And Daphne is also coming home.  Faithful God in heaven!

That’s it for now.  I’ll be back soon with an update on Harper’s surgery.

Love to you all.
