The grave could not hold my Savior.
And because He lives….
I can face tomorrow. Even though I have absolutely no idea what it may hold.
I can wake up each morning knowing that He will direct my steps–my only concern is to follow. My life is not my own. I have been bought with a price.
“LORD, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.”
Jer 10:23
My joy is complete. I am content.
“For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” Phil 4:11
No matter what trials may come my way. It ALL has to pass through His mighty hands before it gets to me.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.” James 1:2
I choose to set my thoughts on things that are lovely, pure, and praiseworthy.
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Phil 4:8
Because He lives, my sins are forgiven…forgotten. I am a new creation in Christ.
“Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.” Romans 4:7
My life is not my own. I am my beloved’s and He is mine. His banner over me is love.
“Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.” Song of Sol. 2:4
What shall I eat, drink, or wear? They are not my concern either. My Risen Lord is more than able to take care of my every need in this life. His eye is on the sparrow.
“So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matt 10:31
He holds my future in the palm of His hands–He is more than able to direct my steps.
“A person’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand their own way?”
Prov 20:24
Joy will always come in the morning. He promises me that.
“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:14
I know I am loved and cherished beyond description. He died for me. Me! My heart cannot fathom such love.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
Everlasting joy will be mine, so shall the oil of gladness.
“You love justice and hate evil. Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you.” Hebrews 1:9
And He will continue to do a good work in me.
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Phil 1:6
I will not worry about the things of this earth, for soon they shall pass away.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Luke 21:33
Today I am so thankful that my Redeemer lives…that the grave could not hold Him.
“But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.” Mark 16:4
I am so thankful that my Jesus is alive and well, seated at the right hand of God, and his Spirit dwells within me.
“And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Mark 14:62
HE CONQUERED THE GRAVE!
