good times

Life has been ridiculously busy.

Adoption paperwork galore.  A house full to overflowing with people we love. Crazy football schedules for the boys. Therapies for the girls.  Required parenting training for our adoption. Finishing homeschool for the year.  Planning school for next year. On and on and on.

Crazy times.

So when my dear friend, Shonni, sent me a note saying, “Heading up to the mountains this week, do you want to join us?”

Heck, yeah!

Time out of the house with a sweet friend was just what I needed.

We love, love, love getting together with Shonni and her amazing children.

Beautiful children.

And their beautiful mommy.

In beautiful scenery.

Shonni and her hubby, Steve, are just amazing people.  We love them dearly.  They’re some of our favorite YES people.

Always, always willing to say, “Yes, Lord!”

Spending time with them is like being with family.

Their kids are so precious.

Shonni and I had such a special day.  Spending time with the ones we love.

And enjoying each others company.

Sharing our hearts on many, many things.

Between our two families we represent many nations around the world.

We’re different in so many ways.

Yet, we’re all the same!

We love God passionately.

And long for our sweet children to do the same.

The weather was perfect for a hike in the mountains.  Small patches of snow are still on the ground.  Made for some fun times for the kids.

The little ones got carried by any arms which would hold them.

Hailee threw a little party on Shonni’s hip.  She is a total wiggle-worm.

We laughed.

And enjoyed sweet fellowship with kindred hearts.

And thanked the Father for these with whom we have been abundantly blessed.

We played.

And giggled.

This definitely is one of the things I love the most about homeschooling.

We get to build relationships with people we love.

And enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

We get to explore the world around us.

Together!  We’re always together.

And when little ones feel weary and it’s time to call it a day…

…we thank God for amazing friends and good times spent among His glorious creation.

And we follow the path which leads us back home again.

Blessing the name of the Lord and so grateful for these gifts which He has given me.
