UPDATE: Glory to God in the highest! God’s people once again opened their hearts and today we received a $3000 matching grant for Village of Hope. So amazing! We’re pressing on toward the finish line and trusting for PROVISION from heaven to build this home. We still have a long way to go–but He is ABLE. Thank you for being a part of what God is doing in Guatemala. So thankful!
Christmas is upon us.
We all have an amazing opportunity to do something remarkable this Christmas–something that your children can be involved in that will teach them a valuable life lesson of what it means to make a difference as a follower of Christ.
I don’t know about you, but some Christmases I shake my head after all the presents have been opened. Our living room looks like a tornado had hit–shreds of torn wrapping paper litter the floor, along with ripped boxes and pieces of plastic that once held presents in place. What took months to plan and many dollars to save up just ended up at Ground Zero of a nuclear blast. I’m not sure how long the kids appreciate everything we give them. Maybe one or two gifts are what they’ll focus on for a couple of weeks.
But here’s something they can focus on and track for months to come–their own part, along with Mom and Dad, of giving to a cause that changes lives.
HERE’S THE BAD NEWS…
We have been informed that Village of Hope in Guatemala has had to TURN DOWN children who are terribly desperate for shelter, food, and spiritual nurturing. We suspected it might come to this. They are bursting at the seams, and for the first time, have had to say, “Sorry, but we cannot take another child.”
They need another house because there is literally no room at the inn!
I cannot even think about what will happen to those who have nowhere to go!
HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS…
WE can make something happen!
We have a spectacular opportunity–all of us–to reach our goal of $40,000 to build a cinder-block home for desperate kids in Guatemala. Right now, through the generosity of many of you, we have collected around $5,600 so far.
We were just told that if we raise $3,000 in the next 48 hours, that amount will be matched, dollar for dollar!
That’s an additional $6,000!
Let’s do something spectacular for the kingdom, friends. Let’s do it together. Let’s involve our children, even if they pitch in just one dollar, and help them to appreciate what it means to think of other children this Christmas who don’t even have a home.
WHEN the goal is reached (and I do mean “when”), we can celebrate the greatness of God and show our children how their donations have changed these kids’ lives–kids who may even be their own age!
Let’s do this…together, and believe God for a miracle!
We have 48 hours for the total to reach $8,615 to receive an additional $3000! What a blessing from heaven that would be! Every single dollar you give will be doubled.
