For the past few years I have had the absolute honor of watching a God story unfold. Several years ago the Block family took a giant leap of faith and headed to Guatemala to serve the people there as full-time missionaries. As many of you know, last year I had the privilege of traveling down there to hug my friends in person and to see the works of the Father through their faithful, willing hands. So many of you have sowed much precious seed into helping Village of Hope become what it is today–a beautiful, faithful ministry that serves so many children who call it their home.
I have watched as the Block children have grown into the most precious, God-serving missionary kids. I have seen how they love and how they are willing to pour out their hearts for the sake of those who are helped by their family.
Addisyn was just fifteen years old when her family moved to Guatemala. When there last November, I asked her whether she would consider returning to the States as she entered her young adult years. “No way!” she adamantly told me. “I love it here and I love the people.” I will never forget that–a young person so sure of her calling in life. For the next few days I quietly observed this young woman love on those who God had placed before her. She loved them well. It was inspiring to see a young person give herself so freely wherever there was a need.
No longer the teenager who moved to Guatemala three years ago, Addie is now a beautiful (inside and out) young woman who radiates the love of her Jesus. God has truly given her a supernatural ability to speak Spanish. She can interpret and translate for anyone who needs it and the Father uses her in amazing ways to communicate with the local people.
How this young woman loves! For her recent nineteenth birthday she had one request…
…to take all the precious girls who live at Village of Hope to see the ocean for the first time.
And so she did.
Because that’s just who she is.
So very precious to all who know her.
Being sure of the call on her life and so madly in love with the people of Guatemala, Addisyn has stepped out in faith and is trusting God for the support that she needs to continue serving the people there as a missionary. There is so much work to be done and Addie has found great favor in that place.
If you or your family would love to sow seed on fertile ground–in a place where one young lady is making such a difference and longs to stay there as long as the LORD will allow her to stay, would you consider supporting Addisyn, please? Any amount would be so greatly appreciated.
All support and donations can be made through Commission to Every Nation RIGHT HERE.
We’re not all called to go, but supporting a missionary in a faraway land is such an awesome and easy way to see God’s kingdom coming on the earth. Together, as one body who cares so deeply, we can do amazing things–whether we are called to stay right where we are…
…or leave our homes to go wherever He calls us…
we CAN make a difference.
Thank you for considering supporting a young lady as she lays down her life for the sake of these little darlings.
Loving you from afar, Addisyn. Keep shining the glorious light of Christ so brightly in that place. I cannot wait to watch your journey continue to unfold.
