sweet young lady<\/a> who chose life for her unborn twins and desperately needs to know the love of God in a tangible way.<\/p>\nGod’s beloved…<\/p>\n
Your kindness has moved me. Deeply. <\/p>\n
So many responded this week saying, “I want to help.” “I want to be a blessing.” “Send me the address so that I can help in any way she needs.” You absolutely blew me away. My lovely social worker has no<\/i> idea what is about to hit her mail in the next few days. Ha! I love it!<\/p>\n
And a very young mom–feeling so very alone as she brings new life into the world–she will see <\/i>Jesus. <\/p>\n
It’s been a week of great blessing and extravagant love lavished upon those who need it.<\/p>\n
Because He first loved us. <\/p>\n
I caught a glimpse of something Anthony was watching on the news a couple of nights ago. I couldn’t watch. So much pain, heartache, and heinous crimes which we have almost come to expect these days. It’s awful. It got me thinking about how we, as God’s chosen people, are set apart to be a shining light in these dark days–a city on a hill. I love The Message paraphrase of Matthew 5:14:<\/p>\n
“Here\u2019s another way to put it: You\u2019re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We\u2019re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don\u2019t think I\u2019m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I\u2019m putting you on a light stand. Now that I\u2019ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand\u2014shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives.<\/span> By opening up to others;<\/span> you\u2019ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\nIsn’t that such a great reminder of what we are called to do and be? To be generous with our lives so that others may see and know HIM?<\/b> What beautiful seed we sow when we simply give.<\/p>\n
When we love. Freely.<\/p>\n
Thank you for showing me this week that love always wins–no matter how dark these days become, the light-bearers will <\/i>shine brightly. Thank you for your astounding generosity and your beautiful hearts which long to be a blessing. I learn so much from those of you who read here. Thank you!<\/p>\n
What an honor it is to call you all my friends! Though we may never meet face-to-face, that glorious day will some day come when we will gather together and sing “Holy, Holy, Holy” in one loud voice. I can hardly wait.<\/p>\n
But until that day comes…keep your houses open and keep shining brightly, friends.<\/p>\n
