with an aching heart

Dearest friends,

Sweet Mabel has gone home to be with Jesus.  While we rejoice that she is finally free of pain and no longer struggles here on earth, our hearts ache that the story never ended the way we all prayed it would.  We’re heartbroken for our friends who have had to say goodbye to their beautiful daughter after just a few weeks together. We don’t understand His ways, but we trust with all of our hearts that He is a sovereign Father who knows best.  As Tana said so beautifully, “He needed her to do exactly what she did here on earth and now He needs her in heaven. She is so precious in His eyes and I can only imagine the homecoming that ensued when she arrived. I am confident she was welcomed with fanfare as she is truly famous for God.”

He needed her in heaven.

Please read Tana’s blog post HERE.  Such beautiful words about a precious girl who loved Jesus so passionately and trusted Him every day that He sustained her on this earth.

Please remember the Sykes family in your prayers. This is so hard. So absolutely painful. But if there is one thing that I am so positive of it’s that if God called them all over again–if He said go and they knew the outcome–they would go again!  They would do it all over again because this one life mattered so much to God…and to them too.  Mabel was worth it.  I am so, so grateful that she knew the love of a family who just adored her.

Thank you for bringing them all before the throne of grace and mercy this day.  Thank you to everyone who has played a part in Mabel’s story over the last few months–whether you have sown financially to help bring her home or prayed every time I have shared, we are so grateful.

“The LORD gives, and the LORD takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord!”  ~~ Job 1:21

Until that glorious day when we see you in heaven, sweet Mabel.  It truly has been an honor and a privilege to share your story.

Loving you, Sykes family.
