I love summer

I probably should have titled this ‘the post with a whole bunch of pictures’.

I really do love summer. I love the heat. I love humidity. My hubby thinks I’m nuts.

We’ve been longing to get out to a park since we got here. But life has been too busy. We’ve been working our tails off trying to get the house unpacked and sorted out. I finally feel like we’re making some progress.  I’ll post more house photos soon.  There is so much work that needs to be done.  The house is so old and badly in need of repairs and updates.  It’s going to take time.  Thankfully we love renovating our homes.

Today we had the perfect opportunity to escape the mess at home and have some much needed time out…my dear Dad’s birthday. A time to celebrate. With the yummiest chocolate cake in hand, we headed to a gorgeous spot, a place we used to visit often last time we lived here. It felt so good to get out.

Boys were, well, just boys–if there’s a tree in sight, this young man will climb it as high as he possibly can.  Gives me heart failure every time.

A time to run, play and savor the joy of being outdoors. Barefoot, of course. My kids and shoes really don’t go very well together. If they had their way they would never have anything on their feet.

Two little angels have decided that yummy food is quite alright.

And cake is definitely God’s gift to little children.

Life will never be the same for these two…they have discovered delicious food.  As soon as they see me coming nearer with a plate of food in my hands, they start crawling as fast as they possibly can to come closer.  The good life. Too darn sweet for words.

Three of my treasures on this earth.

How is it that my baby boy is no longer my baby? How I wish I could slow down the hands of time and keep him little for just a while longer.

Observing God’s glorious creation.

They take my breath away.

Daddy with his angels.  I wonder how long he will be able to hold them both in this way.  My guess is not very long–I have a feeling these girls are going to grow like weeds if they continue to eat as well as they are. I can already see a change in their tiny bodies since coming home–Hailee especially.

A treasure deep in thought.

A princess with a smile that can light up a room.

Another angel with a heart of gold and a personality as bright as the sun.

Me and my baby lovies.

Sweetness.

Such a beauty.

Children loving nature.

Pondering.

Playing.

Dad and Beth. Happy birthday Dad–we love you more than words can say.

We stayed until we could stay no longer.  The setting sun meant that it was time to go home.

Until another day.

So thankful for God’s amazing blessings in our lives. The simple joy of just being together, surrounded by His incredible creation, fills my heart to overflowing.

Blessed be the name of the Lord.
