one child at a time

Oh my goodness!  After my recent posts on institutionalized children, my inbox is seriously flooded with e-mails.  If you have written to me and not heard back yet, please know that I am working hard to try and respond to everyone.  You should hear back from me soon.  I appreciate your patience.

Aslan is on the move, friends!  Hearts are being stirred and challenged, eyes are being opened to the TRUTH of what happens to the fatherless, and the glorious body of Christ is rising up to take care of the orphan.  Every e-mail I have received says, “What can we do?”  “How can we help?”  It seems that so, so many people are looking for a place to help–they truly WANT to help–but just don’t know HOW to help.

I am busy working on compiling a list of ministries and organizations that are involved in caring for the “least of these”–ones so often hidden away from the world and forgotten about. Ones who desperately need our help! I hope to be able to post the list next week.  Hopefully it will give you many options and ways that you can help in one way or another.  People ask me all the time whether I think that everyone should adopt a child.  No!  I don’t.  I believe the Lord gives different callings to all of us. But when we are all doing something to help, what a profound difference we can make!  The only thing that is non-negotiable is that we are commanded to care for the orphan in the book of James–no matter how that looks.

This week I received such an encouraging e-mail from a reader who saw this post.  Her heart was stirred to action.  Not being in a position of being able to adopt in this season of her life, she knew that she had to do something to help.  She asked God to show her what she could do to make a difference in the life of a child, and He sure did.

One adorable little boy on this list of children in desperate need of being rescued touched her heart so deeply. A little guy who is about to be transferred to a mental asylum.  Time in the baby house is rapidly running out for him, and any day now he too will end up like this!  She knew that she needed to do what she was able to do to ensure that Arnold does NOT become another statistic of a child who declines so rapidly once transferred.

Arnold urgently needs to be rescued!

This sweet reader has very generously donated $15,000.00 to Arnold’s adoption! Right now his grant fund is at $15,721.90. That is a HUGE grant.

Now Arnold just needs a family–someone to step forward in faith and save him from what you all now know is the awful reality of the child who gets transferred.

PLEASE SAVE ARNOLD!  HALF OF HIS ADOPTION COSTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN COVERED.

Please help us spread the word about Arnold’s new grant in the hope that we can find his family really soon…before it is too late!

Yes, we CAN make a difference…one child at a time.
