I am so very thankful to each one of you who has already given to our MISSION: A HOUSE FOR LIFE this month.
What an outpouring of love and mercy it has been!
With just a few days left in this end-of-year mission to GIVE BACK just a tiny portion of what we have been exceedingly, abundantly blessed with, I have such an exciting opportunity to share with you all.
But instead of hearing from me, I thought this would be a good time for you all to hear from someone very special. She has become a very precious person in my own life and I am so honored to call her friend. She’s a mom to many, a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, and a women after God’s own heart. She’s a person I admire greatly.
It is an absolute joy to introduce you all to Amy Block–missionary to Guatemala and founder of Village of Hope.
Please be sure to read all the way to the bottom for an incredible opportunity to see God DOUBLE the blessings!

Sometimes we get it all wrong and don’t even realize it. Sometimes we waste a whole lot of time trying to do the right thing- when the right thing is right in front of our eyes–and we miss it.
Many times we shuffle into church on Sundays. We sit in our pew and recite the words that have been neatly typed in the bulletin. We nod our heads at the appropriate times and sing the words to the hymn without really letting them touch our hearts. We frequently check our watches, anxious to get to lunch where we spend more there than we ever consider dropping into the offering. When the sermon is over we shake hands, greet those around us, load up our Bibles, carry them home, and leave them on the shelf until the next Sunday.
Then, we go on with our lives as if nothing had changed in our time with the Lord–because it really hasn’t.
While singing Christian music is a good thing, while wearing a cross around your neck is nice, while being involved in church related events is wonderful and while having a WWJD sticker on the back of your vehicle might make people stop and think–those things amount to nothing–if we stop there. So often we are guilty of going through the Christian motions. So often we know the words to Scripture, we can retell the stories of the Bible–but we don’t truly let the cross change us.
“I can’t stand your religious meetings. I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals. I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes, your public relations and image making. I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to me? Do you know what I want? I want justice—oceans of it. I want fairness—rivers of it. That’s what I want. That’s all I want.” Amos 5:21-24
Today there are 163 million orphans waiting.
Waiting to be loved.
Waiting to be cherished.
Waiting to belong.
Waiting to matter…
to us…
as much as they do to God.
We are His hands and feet. We are His plan to help the oppressed and afflicted.
There is no Plan B.
We are it.
I dare say, with 163 million of them, we are failing in a miserable way.
Would you imagine with me for a minute–you are trapped inside of a burning building, lying on the floor, unable to help yourself. Someone outside dials 911, but the firefighters on call respond by saying, ‘That’s so sad, but we can’t save them all’ and does nothing to come to your rescue. There are 163 million orphans in this world trapped and unable to help themselves.
How are you going to respond to the call?
The truth is, we need you! Yes, you. We need your help and we cannot do it on our own. I don’t know how else to say it. There are children waiting and we cannot open our doors until we have a home to hang those doors on.
I read a quote once that said “Between the great things we can’t do and the little things we won’t do, lies the danger that we’ll do nothing.” I don’t know what your situation is. I don’t know where you are with God, where you are in life. But I know that you are not reading this by chance. I’d like to take this time to challenge you to do something for someone who may never know you did.
As the new year is almost upon us take time to stop and count your blessings, reflect on them, and then hand them back to Jesus. All of them, especially the ones you are most thankful for. Let Him use the gifts he has given you to make Himself known throughout this world. Be a part of something big. Give Hope and give HOME to one of the 163 million who will most likely never have an opportunity to be adopted.
One thing I adore about our Jesus is how is can He takes the little we have and turns it into something big.
Village of Hope has been blessed to have been given a MATCHING GRANT of $7,500 and we need your help. Would you like to be able to double your gifts? How would you like to be a part of building the first home for Village of Hope?
So far $16,507.00 has already been raised and we are in need of $13,493.00 more to build the very first home for orphans who have special needs in Guatemala.
We are so excited to see what the Lord does when we come together to give HOPE.
Thanks for sharing your precious heart, Amy.
Friends, are you still looking for a place for making an end-of-year charitable tax-deductible donation?
Here’s an incredible opportunity to DOUBLE your giving.
For every one dollar you donate to Village of Hope–Guatemala, another dollar will be given up to $7,500.
That means that if we could raise just $7,500 before the end of this year, Village of Hope will receive $15,000! Combined with what we have already raised here, they would most certainly have enough to build one entire house for precious little children who so desperately need a safe, loving place to call home!
What a victory in the Kingdom of God that would be–children snatched out of darkness and brought into the glorious light of Christ, and the love of a family…pure and faultless religion.
WE HAVE JUST FOUR DAYS TO RAISE $7,500!
Impossible?
No, NOTHING is impossible for the Lord God Almighty! It’s a promise He gives us.
Since this is still part of the House for Life mission, any donation you make will be eligible for the big giveaway. Just be sure to leave a comment on this post.
Would you please help us to spread this amazing opportunity wherever you can? That would be such an enormous blessing. I appreciate your help so much as we trust the Almighty Father that in 2013 the first house WILL be built.
Thank you for being the body of Christ!
ALL DONATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED BY PROJECT HOPEFUL AND ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
