when one courageous family rises up

When I think about some of the families who inspire me the most, it’s those who never give up in the midst of great trial who remind me that following the LORD with everything that is within us is absolutely worth it.

Not always easy, but so very worth it.

For a while now I have journeyed with the Winslow family.  I have watched them step out in faith to adopt a very medically fragile little darling, travel overseas to meet her, return home and soon learn that the sweet daughter of their hearts wasn’t able to hold on until they could go back to bring her home.  So many of us wept when we heard that Zoey had gone to be with Jesus soon after meeting her family.

I cannot imagine meeting a child whom I had fallen in love with and then losing her before she could come home.  It’s a very hard road that God calls some very special families to walk.

In the last few weeks, I have watched the Winslow family rise from the ashes.  I have journeyed with them as they have sought God with all their hearts to know His perfect will for their family.

Many would say, “This is too painful, God.  We’ll bring home our little boy who also waits and that will be enough.”  But not this family!  With courage, faith, and a desire to follow their God in heaven passionately, the Winslow family have pressed forward toward the finish line.

When God called them to adopt a medically fragile child, they accepted that sometimes His perfect will may be something completely different to what they originally thought. God’s ways are so NOT our ways!

But that never changed the fact that He had called them by name to go.

As sweet Zoey now dances in heaven with Jesus, I know that she would rejoice in knowing that another beautiful little angel from her orphanage–a treasure who has also waited for way too long to be chosen–will be coming home to the Winslow family.  Like Zoey, JoyAnna has also spent her entire life confined to a crib.  She has many needs and desperately needs medical attention.

Unfortunately, this means an extra trip overseas and additional fees.  The Winslows have exhausted all options as far as grants go and are still short financially.  They have been told that the next trip overseas will happen quickly, and they need to be prepared.

Would you please consider helping this family as they journey on toward the finish line?  I know that it would mean the absolute world to them to have the financial burden lifted.

All donations to help these two precious and amazing children to come HOME can be made through PROJECT HOPEFUL and are tax deductible.

They still need to raise $10,000.

DONATIONS TO THE WINSLOW FAMILY ADOPTION CAN BE MADE VIA PROJECT HOPEFUL RIGHT HERE.

Thank you for your love poured out for this special family!
